Riada American School

"Every Learner A Leader"

Mrs. Gehan Holayel
School Principal

Riada American School, a leading institution of education, opened on its present site, a distinctive, architect-designed group of buildings, in 2005. Located in a central, peaceful part of Alexandria, the school provides a safe and environment for nearly five hundred students every year. In architecture and design, the School is modern and purpose built. RAS offers the American curriculum for grades K-12. RAS is accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Education as a co-educational, university/college preparatory school, which adheres to the American curriculum and grants the American High School Diploma. Additionally, RAS is accredited by AdvancED. RAS firmly believes that small class size is highly conductive to learning. Small class size allows the teacher the opportunity to address individual academic needs, and to tailor teaching to each individual student's learning style. RAS believes in self-renewal and searching out best practices so that our students may participate in a rich, educational experience. Our students, in turn, are active, intelligent and creative learners. These positive attitudes unite us across all levels at RAS. Our parents are our partners in the education of their children. Parents volunteer in classrooms, are active in the Parent Teacher Organization, and lend their voices to our students’ education. We invite and encourage parents to use our website to stay well informed about the activities and learning experiences at RAS.

Farah elSayed Aly – Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University

"... Medicine has been a dream from childhood that Riada helped to achieve. One of Alexandria’s finest, Riada American helped me develop my presentation and leadership skills, that, as I have discovered, are vital in college. My teachers, whose doors were always open, made me realize that originality is key, so I graduated having developed my own character and style. Riada American was, is, and always will be home. My best memories are: the Oratory Contest, that encouraged me to address a diverse audience, my Senior Trip, and becoming Head of Tutoring as part of my Community Service Program. Supervising tutoring was a huge responsibility but enabled me to help a lot of RAS students. ..."

Football player in Spanish CE Jupiter U19 League

"… I would not have been where I am now without Riada and its people. I have been at Riada my whole academic life since the age of three. Basically I have learned every single thing I know in this school, not only academics but also dealing with everyday life situations, dedication to what I am doing, and giving my best. I have spent the best three years of my life in Riada American High School. It felt like going to a place where I could learn more about myself and could see the people I love most. My best memories are those of the International Day and our Senior Trip. …"

Omar Mahmoud elSenbawy – Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University

"... Riada American School has influenced me in many positive ways that I only now gradually become aware of as I develop in this new stage of my life. I cannot emphasize enough how this school has helped me achieve my goal of being in Medical School by teaching me dedication and self discipline towards what I do. Especially Ms. Gehan Holayel left a presence in me that will last for many years to come. Although I have attended multiple schools in my academic life, no other school was as special and helpful to me as Riada. I cant thank the staff enough. My best memories are those of the time I spent with friends and the countless events organized that include International Day and the Bake Sale. ..."
